» I can’t recall the last time Swedish TIAMAT have played in Portugal, but it’s been a few years. Personally, it was the band I wanted to see the most and they didn’t let me down.
The concert was delayed about 20 minutes. After the problems with the PA during ANATHEMA, we were starting to fear the worst. But “Fireflower” began at last, with Johan Edlund apologizing in the end.
They proceeded with “Children Of The Underground”, which they dedicated to ANATHEMA and OPETH (by the way, OPETH‘s keyboard player, Joakin Svalberg, was also behind TIAMAT‘s keys that night).
Apart from the two very first albuns, “Sumerian City” (1990) and “The Astral Sleep” (1991), they went through all their discography. “Whatever That Hurts”, “Brighter Than The Sun” and “Cold Seed” were some of the highest moments.
The oldest tracks were left for last: “The Sleeping Beauty” and “Gaia”, which someone in the crowd had already screamed for, in the beginning of the show. With a sincere “God bless you. Thank you so much, enjoy OPETH!”, Edlund & Co. left the stage. «
