Original Portuguese version on World Of Metal.
After two editions cancelled by the pandemic, now that the restrictions were almost all lifted, River Stone didn’t wait for September to make their usual festival happen and promoted an indoors version in April.
THE FINES kicked off the night, with all the insolence of a raw rock they’ve been playing for almost two decades. But don’t let yourselves be fooled by the apparent lack of maturity when hearing José Santos sing the chorus of “Põe a Mão na Mão do Meu Senhor (da Galileia)” (a popular Christian song), or the jokes more suited for a bar than a stage, or the self-disregard of drummer Vítor Santos – “real bands are coming next!” – at the end of the show. The spunk with which they perform their songs is the spirit of rock incarnated and the humor and easy-going that season them reflects the satisfaction in doing so – that feeling every musician and music lover should feel. If no other tragedy takes hold of our planet – speaking of, Sandro Costa dedicated “Remember” to “all of you who went through a rough patch” – “Cuming Soon”, their upcoming album, should be released this year still.
