I confess I didn’t expect such a great concert by CREMATORY (even if, personally, I’d have loved to have listened to “Ist Es Wahr” and “For Love”) – not for the musical quality itself, but because I’ve always had the feeling that they were a band to listen at home, that it wouldn’t work very well live. My sincere apologies! Even Felix‘s check ups on a cheat sheet with the lyrics were done with such professionalism and skill that if I wasn’t watching him from the front row, I’d never tell he was “cheating”. “Greed”, “The Fallen” and “Tick “Tack” brought back so many memories!
Felix introduced the band, leaving co-founder Markus Jüllich for last. He came out from behind his drumkit to say a few words about what drove him after so many years – the music and the fans. And as an example, he called on stage a boy who was in the front row, introducing him as “CREMATORY‘s biggest fan in Portugal”, as he had gone twice to Germany just to see them. It was him who announced the last song – that one which everybody knows, even if they know nothing else – “Tears Of Time”.
