I’ve missed the “Ceremony Of Opposites” anniversary concert, by the end of 2016, meaning that it had been almost eight years since the last time I’d seen SAMAEL – the expectations were high and the Swisses went beyond all of them.

“Hegemony” is still their latest record (even if it was released in 2017) and therefore the one they visited the most, kicking off with its title-track and, close to the end, “Black Supremacy” preceding the encore. This show also endorsed a roller-coaster of emotions and memories, and the aforementioned encore seemed to have been handpicked accordingly: “Ceremony Of Opposites”, “Baphomet’s Throne” and, obviously, “My Saviour”. An irreproachable posture from the whole band but I must highlight the adamant charisma of singer Vorph: he is what we colloquially call “a sir”.
