» When the members of LEPROUS played with Ihsahn in this year’s edition of Vagos Open Air, I liked what I saw pretty much. The talent of these Norwegian youngsters was tangible. But when I saw that progressive metal was what their own band played, I lost the will to deepen my knowledge – my ears prefer simpler things, less elaborated… I admire the hability of this kind of musicians but the sound itself usually bores me. That’s why it was such a surprise when I found myself applauding enthusiastically the concert of LEPROUS! The “technical flourishes” and the changes in tempo are quite enough, stopping in the right moment before they become annoying. And, of course, the expressions/movements which they apply to their performance, making it almost impossible to get a focused photo. Really really good.
Singer/keyboard player Einar Solberg thanked and made compliments more than once to the audience, who supported the band with clapping hands and shouts of approval.
Wearing ties (or bow tie in Solberg‘s case) and classical trousers and waistcoats, they brought us a setlist composed almost entirely by tracks from “Bilateral”, album released this year, starting out with “Thorn” and finishing with “Forced Entry”. In between they also played “Passing” and “Dare You”, from the previous work “Tall Poppy Syndrome” (2009). «
Tack så mycket! : ) Merry christmas from me & Bella, back to you! ♥
