Just like the previous edition of Laurus Nobilis Music Famalicão, only the Estrella Galicia was active on the first day (even if they were already testing the lights on the Porminho stage). LYFORDEATH kicked off the bill and I don’t know who “got it wrong” – the band or the stage manager – but they played for an hour. We didn’t notice it at first; even considering the several technical problems (we’d stop hearing the voice, then we’d stop hearing the guitars… a sonant roller-coaster), the show was pretty interesting, their mix of thrash with a dark blend of death metal working out very well by the hands and throats of these youngsters. Personally, I must add that listening to our mother tongue in “Nullius In Verba – Act 2” was refreshing. Yes, it somewhat reminds another Portuguese band but I won’t make comparisons as that would lessen their merit and it wouldn’t be fair.
