BLACKUNPLUGGED @ Bedouinbar, 2015/06/27

I’ve known Matador (guitar) and Suzy (bass) for ages, but it wasn’t friendship that led me to São João da Madeira that night – a bunch of rock & metal classics in unplugged mode? Couldn’t miss it!

Songs such as POISON‘s “Talk Dirty To Me”, BON JOVI‘s “You Give Love A Bad Name”, AC/DC‘s “You Shook Me All Night Long”, AEROSMITH‘s “Cryin'”, ROBERT PALMER‘s “Bad Case Of Loving You”, METALLICA‘s “Fuel”, KISS“Rock And Roll All Nite”, but also some grunge hits such as PEARL JAM‘s “Jeremy” and ALICE IN CHAINS“Would” got everybody singing and smiling. In what was supposed to be the encore, LED ZEPPELIN‘s “Whole Lotta Love”, people even got up from their chairs (the gig was at a bar, not exactly a concert venue). “Was supposed to be” because we kept asking for more and the bar owner was more than happy to allow it. BLACKUNPLUGGED didn’t have any more songs to play, so they had to repeat a few – chosen by the crowd (BON JOVI, AEROSMITH and ROBERT PALMER).

Sally is the main singer, but Daniel, the other guitar player, is in charge of the grunge stuff, plus STONE SOUR‘s “Through Glass” – because he simply kicks ass when singing in the grave, deep tone those songs require.

And then there’s that funny character Vitinha on the drums. :D

They’ve been playing all summer and being a success wherever they go. They’re constantly adding new covers to their set, but even if that wasn’t the case, there’s never a dull moment at this kind of gig – BLACKUNPLUGGED is 100% fun. :)
