Para a Rita e para a Raquel…
» It had been a few years since ROTTING CHRIST‘s last concert in Portugal and the release of two new albuns, but still the Greeks put their faith in the past, playing a majorly old school setlist. The very opening theme, “The Forest Of N’Gai”, took us back to the early nineties, when they released their first EP “Passage To Arcturo”.
With a new album out (“Kata Ton Daimona Eaytoy”), they also performed a couple of songs featured in it – the title-track and “In Yumen – Xibalba” – and the end of the gig was graced by “Noctis Era”, from the previous work (“Aealo”). But apart from “Societas Satanas”, a THOU ART LORD cover they began playing live this year, everything else was over six years old – without forgetting “Athanati Este”.
Extreme metal that in the aforementioned early days might not have sound that great in studio, but when it comes to live shows, it becomes something really worthwhile – Vagos wasn’t an exception, impressing those who thought of ROTTING CHRIST as “just another black metal band”. «
