» It wasn’t ANGELUS APATRIDA first time in Portugal but it was their first gig in Porto. They, too, have a less-than-a-year old album, “The Call”, and it was its first track, “You Are Next”, that set their concert in motion… as well as the crowd. “Estáis locos, eh?” laughed singer and guitarist Guillermo Izquierdo at some point. That and the statement about Super Bock beer being better than Sagres…
ANGELUS APATRIDA was the oldest band and had the longest discography, so it was certainly harder for them to choose which songs to play that night. They opted to focus on the two most recent albums, the aforementioned “The Call” and also “Clockwork” – both recorded in the Portuguese studios Ultrasound with Daniel Cardoso, something Guillermo seemed proud of. But they couldn’t not play the title-track of their second album, “Give ‘Em War”, as it’s the song where a wall of death is mandatory.
Hugo (SWITCHTENSE) got on stage once more to help singing “Fresh Pleasure” and the concert ended afterwards with the brutality of “Blast Off”. «
