» In the year WEB complete their 25th anniversary, their second album “Deviance” finally sees the light of day. They chose Metalpoint, as we all expected, to host the event. The surprise might have been the invited bands – A DARK PLACE (from Matosinhos, not Australia) and Spanish AGÓNICA. On the other hand, it’s a new album, a kind of new stage in WEB’s life, and maybe they just wanted to play with other bands then “the usual ones”.

It was past 22:30 when “Deviance” stopped playing as background music to give room to the live music of A DARK PLACE. Although they played in the last edition of Gaia Em Peso, I didn’t have the chance to see them, so this was my first time. Also for their own drummer (Marco?), who completed the ultimate line-up of the band. I don’t know how they did in the previous concerts – if they had a guest drummer or used recorded samples. Or if singer Ricardo played that role simultaneously, since the first time I’ve ever seen him on stage, many years ago, was behind the drumkit of BLASPHEMY. Either way, the thrash/death they delivered was pretty tight and they didn’t sound as a band recently defined. They all have huge expressivity on stage which, in my opinion, earns many points in a band’s ranking. On the last song, Ricardo incited mosh by starting a pit himself.
