“Good afternoon, Moita! We are MOONSHADE and we’re an AMON AMARTH cover band from Porto!” They’re not, but the influence of the Swedish band is unmistakable, so singer Ricardo Pereira decided to make that joke. There was a time where they even played “Guardians Of Asgaard”, but now with a full-length album (“Sun Dethroned”) besides two EPs (“The Path Of Redemption” and “Dream | Oblivion”) they have enough of their own songs to put on their setlists.
“Sun Dethroned” has also some clear AMORPHIS nuances – from the “Elegy” era – making the whole Viking approach darker and more melodic, resulting in a great album. And it works wonders when played live.
