MOONSHADE @ Moita Metal Fest, 2019/04/06

“Good afternoon, Moita! We are MOONSHADE and we’re an AMON AMARTH cover band from Porto!” :XD: They’re not, but the influence of the Swedish band is unmistakable, so singer Ricardo Pereira decided to make that joke. There was a time where they even played “Guardians Of Asgaard”, but now with a full-length album (“Sun Dethroned”) besides two EPs (“The Path Of Redemption” and “Dream | Oblivion”) they have enough of their own songs to put on their setlists.

“Sun Dethroned” has also some clear AMORPHIS nuances – from the “Elegy” era – making the whole Viking approach darker and more melodic, resulting in a great album. And it works wonders when played live. :)
