Original Portuguese version on Glam Magazine.
It’s not the first time that a band splits up in two and both take the same name until the copyright battle is solved. This battle seemed peaceful with RHAPSODY back in 2006, when founder Luca Turilli added his name to the band’s and the remaining members went by RHAPSODY OF FIRE. So the news of a tour in celebration of their 20th anniversary plus farewell, under the single name RHAPSODY, while social media called them RHAPSODY REUNION, made us think of a gig with the original line-up. We thought wrong. The reunion is between LUCA TURILLI’S RHAPSODY and Fabio Lione, former lead singer of RHAPSODY OF FIRE. But certainly no one was disappointed as it was Fabio who recorded all the classics and, after these 20 years, listening to “Emerald Sword”, “Wisdom Of The Kings” or “Dawn Of Victory” with the same vocal pitch felt really good. Plus, listening to him addressing the audience in an almost perfect Portuguese had a special taste – being the singer of Brazilian ANGRA has been a great school in the past four years.
