More than promoting “Titans Of Creation” (review here), released in the beginning of the pandemic, TESTAMENT celebrated their 35th anniversary in 2022. Chuck Billy spared no praise for the Portuguese crowd, regarding both the reception that night and the support throughout those 35 years. He added that, in such a period of time, it was the first time he’d seen security joining the crowdsurf. It wasn’t Damas and Fernando‘s first rodeo, but they’d never done it at a TESTAMENT show and Billy admitted “I love it!”.

If the performance in 2013, at that same spot, was somewhat “shabby” (report here), the band from Oakland made up for it 9 years later, being the machines that every other time before won over the Portuguese thrashers. Of course some key-songs were left out – they’re just too many to fit in a single set list; but from “Rise Up” to “Alone In The Dark”, no one could point a disapproving finger.
