HEATHEN @ Vagos Metal Fest, 2022/07/29

Original Portuguese version written for Glam Magazine.

Some bands use other artists’ classics to announce their entrance, but no one expected to listen to “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)” by ABBA before HEATHEN got on stage. All of a sudden, Vagos became a disco of the late ’70s, everybody singing along and dancing. But then the song ended and the real intro echoed (“The Rotting Sphere”) while the Bay Area thrashers took their places, the “dance” changed. Promoting “Empire Of The Blind”, the band fronted by David R. White brought new songs between over-three-decade-old hits such as “Death By Hanging” (1987) and “Hypnotized” (1991). Lee Altus was absent due to family matters and Kyle Edissi, of INVICTA, was replacing him.
