Bassist Leif Edling said something like “a rainy night and a doom band – how appropriate”. What he didn’t say, but pretty much every CANDLEMASS fan felt, was how such sense of fitting extended to Johan Längqvist; with no offense to any other, but having on the mic the singer of the original recordings was probably the best that could have happened to the Stockholm band. From “The Well Of Souls” to “Crystal Ball”, it was a whole night of magic, worthy of “A Sorcerer’s Pledge”.
