COUNTERACTT is a technical deathcore band from Spain with a Portuguese singer, Luís Dias, but he’s probably been living in Madrid long enough for he addressed the crowd in a “Spanishguese” with a funny accent. If playing at five in the afternoon is hard because of the heat, playing at eight is ungrateful because it’s dinner time; but the vigor coming out of that stage was such that caught the attention of enough people to go and watch them. Besides, having played in Portugal in the beginning of the year and Luís being featured in a track by DOWNFALL OF MANKIND (“Divine Slaughter”), COUNTERACTT aren’t total strangers to the national audience. “Universal Sadness” is their latest work (the first full-length, for what I could gather) and “A Voice Of Confusion” and “The Last Ten Words Of Humanity” are some of its highlights. Within the genre, it’s a promising band.
